The paper studies Greek hagiographic monuments, Mount Athos Acts and Leo Ostiensis "chronicles", where information about the Benedictine monks of Mount Athos can be found. The author tries to reject Elene Metreveli's idea that the Benedictine monks of Mount Athos were Catholics and endeavours to justify his position about the Benedictine monks being orthodox Christians.
