The etymology of Atskuri is connected with water. It consists of a prefix - a and a base - tskur. The latter is connected with the Georgian words: tskali, tskaro, tskar-, tsku-, tskor- and others. The given paper discusses Azerbaijani and Armenian scholars' falsification of the etymology and history of Atskuri.
