Manana (Maka) Gotsiridze
Manana (Maka) Gotsiridze was born in 1956 in Tbilisi. In 1978 she graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Tbilisi State University. In 1981 she graduated from Academician G. Tsereteli Institute of Academy of Sciences of Georgia, Oriental Studies, specializing in the Semitic languages. In 1985 Manana Gotsiridze defended the candidate dissertation on the Hebrew translation of "The Knight in the Panther's Skin" by Boris Gaponov. She taught ancient Hebrew and modern Hebrew at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Tbilisi Asia and Africa Institute and Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani Tbilisi State Pedagogical University. Manana Gotsiridze is the author of more than 35 research works, including one monograph “The Hebrew translation of "The Knight in the Panther's Skin". She is one of the compilers of the Hebrew-Georgian Dictionary. Manana Gotsiridze participated in international and local symposiums and conferences.
