Born 1948. Graduate I.Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, the Faculty of History (1971). Candidate dissertation entitled “Material Culture of Shida Kartli in 3rd-1st centuries BC”, awarded degree of candidate of historical sciences (1981). Doctoral dissertation entitled “Old Georgia in the system of Hellenistic World, awarded degreed of doctor of history (1991).
Published 3 monographs and about 80 scientific works.
Collaborates with the Universities of Innsbruck (Austria), Bordeaux (France), Ferrari (Italy).
Leads archeological excavations in various monuments of Georgia.
Major Research Interests: interdisciplinary researches in Archeology, the issues of methodology and archeology, economic relations and dialogue of cultures in 2nd-1st millennia BC.
