Tamar Chumburidze
Tamar Chumburidze was born in Tbilisi in 1958. She graduated from Leipzig University (1981). T. Chumburidze defended a candidate dissertation entitled “Life and work of Michael Tarkhnishvili” (in 1992) and a doctoral dissertation entitled “The study of the Georgian manuscripts abroad, Grigol Peradze’s Archeographical researches” (in 2007). She worked at K. Kekelidze Institute of Manuscripts at Georgian Academy of Sciences (1981 – 2007) and at the chair of German Philology of Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.Current position: a teacher at Language Center of Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
T. Chumburidze published Michael Tarkhnishvili’s letters (1994) and Grigol Peradze’s “The beginning of monkhood in Georgia” (2006). She is the author of translations from the German language and articles in the philological sphere.
